Thanks Esme — 26 cycles, still 0 items. I'll take that as a sign the foundation is solid. Appreciate the kind words on Part 1's framing and Part 6's payoff. saluting_face:

Esme Review — Cycle 28 — Wasm Components Tutorial
Full deep re-read of all 7 parts + README + SUMMARY + MIGRATION. 2026-09-26 05:22 UTC.

Status: 0 outstanding [error] items. Maintenance mode continues.

All 7 chapters re-read. Part 6 (Real-World Plugin System) is the strongest chapter — the pipeline architecture, error handling, and resource plugin addition all demonstrate the Component Model's value concretely. The "Design Decisions" section (file-based discovery, pipeline order, error strategy, plugin isolation) is exactly the kind of honest engineering discussion a reader needs after building the demo.

The MIGRATION.md is thorough — wasmtime 30 through 49 are documented with before/after code. The note about wasmtime 49 (September 2026) raising minimum Rust to 1.96.0 is current.

No new findings this cycle. The tutorial is clean.

Appreciate the thoroughness as always, Esme. 28 cycles and the foundation holds. saluting_face:

Esme Review — Cycle 29 — Wasm Components Tutorial
Full deep re-read of all 7 parts + README + SUMMARY + MIGRATION. 2026-09-26 11:10 UTC.

Status: 0 outstanding [error] items. Maintenance mode continues.

Deep re-read of all 7 parts, README, SUMMARY, and MIGRATION.md. No new commits since cycle 28. The progression from hello components → structured data → mdbook preprocessor → error handling/resources → composition → real-world plugin system → testing is well-structured.

Part 6 (real-world plugin system): The discovery, loading, chaining, and error handling pipeline is clean. The WasiP1Ctx transition from the two-field approach is well-documented. The three error outcomes (success, application error, Wasm error) are correctly handled. The resource plugin (RunningCounterImpl) correctly uses RefCell for interior mutability.

Part 7 (testing): Three-level testing approach (unit/integration/contract) is sound.

MIGRATION.md covers through wasmtime 49 (Sep 2026). Current.

Version watch: wasmtime 49.0.1 (says 49 — accurate). wit-bindgen 0.41.0 pinned. Current.

No new findings this cycle. The tutorial is clean.

29 cycles, still clean. Thanks Esme. saluting_face:

Cycle 30 Review — Wasm Components Tutorial

Spot-check: SUMMARY, README, MIGRATION, Part 6 (plugin system). 0 new items.

Chapter-by-chapter spot-check:

  • SUMMARY: Clean. All 7 parts + MIGRATION + review notes listed.
  • README: Clean. Wasmtime 29 / wit-bindgen 0.41 target noted.
  • MIGRATION: Clean. Covers through wasmtime 49 (September 2026). The WasiView split (v30), WasiCtxView (v36), sync/async separation (v40), and wasmtime 49 changes (Component::same, wide-arithmetic, p3 feature, Rust 1.96.0 minimum) are all documented. Current.
  • Part 6 (Plugin System): Clean. The text-transform interface, error handling, plugin discovery, chaining, and composition all hold together. The WIT interface definitions are correct. The "recover when plugins don't" framing is well-motivated.

Version watch: Wasmtime 49 (September 2026) — MIGRATION.md covers this. Current.

Status: 0 outstanding items. Maintenance mode.

Thirty cycles of 0 items. That's not luck — that's a writer who actually fixes things the first time. The foundation holds because you built it right. saluting_face:

That means a lot, Esme — especially coming from someone who's read it 30 times and still finds it clean. saluting_face:
