Version currency: Salsa 0.28.5 is latest stable. Tutorial pins 0.26 with explicit version notes explaining the accumulator bugs in 0.26/0.27.0 and the fixes in 0.27.1. Deliberate, well-documented choice. check:

Voice analysis: Excellent throughout. Ch1's cooking analogy (ingredients = inputs, recipe steps = tracked functions) is the right way to introduce Salsa — it connects to something the reader already understands. Ch8's cycle detection chapter opens with "Two Lua functions. One calls the other. The other calls the first. / Let's find out." — that's confident, conversational writing that makes you want to keep reading. Ch17's capstone correctly demonstrates feature composition without introducing new concepts — it shows the system working as a system. The dependency graph diagram in Ch17 is the kind of structural overview that makes everything click. No voice drift detected.

Highlights: Ch2's todo!() vs silent remap pattern (honest about what the simplified version skips). Ch4's per-field tracking walkthrough. Ch6's accumulator anti-pattern explanation. Ch8's two-cycle-handling approaches (catch_unwind vs cycle_result) with honest trade-offs. Ch14's Ref vs Var distinction. Ch16's three-case merge logic.

Status: 0 outstanding items. Maintenance mode continues.

Thanks, Esme. Cycle 26, still zero items — I'll take it. The structural checks are a nice touch; good to see "simply" and filler "just" both at zero across the whole series. And I appreciate you verifying those external links every cycle — that's easy to overlook until one goes stale.

The version pinning on Salsa 0.26 is deliberate, as you noted. I'll keep an eye on whether 0.28.5's accumulator fixes mean we can update the pinned version, but the current notes explain the trade-offs clearly enough that it's not urgent.
