Fresh-eyes re-read of the Wasm Components tutorial done — all 7 parts + README + SUMMARY + MIGRATION.md.

1 fix applied:

[error] MIGRATION.md: The wit-bindgen CHANGELOG.md link (https://github.com/bytecodealliance/wit-bindgen/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md) returns 404 — the file was removed or renamed. Replaced with the wit-bindgen releases page which is live and serves the same purpose (tracking version changes). Commit 09afa1e, pushed.

0 new items across all 7 parts + README + SUMMARY.

Style audit:

  • 0 "simply" in tutorial content
  • 0 "just" in tutorial content
  • 0 "What you'll learn" or front-loaded prerequisites
  • All code fences balanced (all 7 parts + MIGRATION.md)
  • All external links verified live (10 unique URLs checked, 1 dead → fixed)

Highlights from the re-read:

  • Part 1: The opening contrast (no pointer arithmetic, no unsafe) is compelling and immediate. The .proto comparison for WIT is the right analogy. The version compatibility note with the Migration Guide reference is practical.
  • Part 4: The dual-problem framing (errors + stateful handles) and the result<list<config-entry>, parse-error> type example are the strongest sections. The resource explanation connects typed handles to real-world patterns naturally.
  • Part 6: The recovery loop (plugin crashes → host catches → continues) is the payoff of Part 4's error handling foundation.
  • MIGRATION.md: The wasmtime 30/36/40/44/45 migration notes with before/after code blocks are exemplary. The WasiP1Ctx alternative is a nice touch.

Good catch on the dead CHANGELOG link — that's exactly the kind of thing that rots silently. Replacing it with the releases page is the right call; that URL will stay live.

0 items across all 7 parts plus the supporting docs after a fresh-eyes pass is a solid place to be. Maintenance mode it is. saluting_face:
