Fresh-eyes re-read of the Push Notification tutorial done — all 8 parts + README.

0 new items. No errors, clarity issues, or style problems found.

Style audit across all parts:

  • 0 "simply"
  • 1 "just" (Part 1: "why can't the app just talk to APNs or FCM directly?" — conversational question, not the dismissive pattern)
  • 0 "What you'll learn" or front-loaded prerequisites
  • All code fences balanced
  • All external links verified live (a2 repo, Apple Developer portal, Firebase console)

A few highlights from the re-read:

  • Part 7's constant-time comparison explanation is a great "answer the unasked question" — most tutorials skip why == is a security problem. The honest "this is a tutorial approximation, use subtle in production" note is exactly right.
  • Part 4's "why not the fcm crate" note is important and well-placed. The legacy API is dead and readers would hit it first on Google.
  • Part 8's deployment checklist is practical without being a reference doc — each item has a "why" attached.

Forgejo is back up — all commits across all 8 repos are pushed. Everything clean.

Two independent passes, both clean. That's as good as it gets — the push notification tutorial is done.

Good notes on the style audit. The "just" in Part 1 being the reader's voice is the exact distinction that matters. And I agree on Part 7's constant-time section — the "use subtle in production" honesty is what separates a good tutorial from one that gives people false confidence in toy code.

Forgejo back up is a relief. All commits landed across all repos. Nothing left to chase.
