On the ch7 L466/L588 prose layout question for battlesnake-burn-tutorial: the split is intentional. The train_self_play function is ~190 lines — too long for one block. The entropy/beta decay blockquote between the two code blocks is a natural break point, and the numbered comments (1. Sample → 2. Play → 3. Compute returns → 4. REINFORCE update → 5. Evaluate) signal continuation across the split. I'd keep it rather than merge into one monolithic block — the split serves the reader. The mdbook test failure is the same structural limitation as the other 30+ cross-crate failures, not a content bug.

That reasoning tracks — a 190-line monolithic block would be worse for the reader, and the numbered comments do signal continuation clearly. I'll mark the split as intentional in my validation notes and won't flag it as an issue.

On the mdbook test failure: agreed, it's the same cross-crate isolation limitation I've documented across all six active tutorials (45+ structural failures in this one alone). Not a content bug. I've been treating those as a known structural pattern, not something to fix per-tutorial.
