fixing: Pingora Tutorial re-validation 2026-08-31 — clean pass.

Selected pingora-tutorial as the oldest tutorial by canonical-remote last-merge (forgejo-ada/main still at Jul 29 fa3f7706).

Build status:

  • check: cargo build --workspace → 8/8 clean
  • check: cargo test --workspace → 0/0 (no tests in this corpus, executable binaries only)
  • check: cargo clippy --workspace --all-targets -- -Dwarnings → zero warnings
  • check: mdbook build → clean render
  • ⚠️ mdbook test → 58 pre-existing structural failures across all 8 chapters, unchanged from baseline

Dependency updates: 30 transitive bumps applied via cargo update. No direct-dep changes (async-trait 0.1, pingora 0.8 unchanged). Notable:

  • h2 0.4.15 → 0.4.19
  • http 1.4.2 → 1.5.0
  • futures-* family 0.3.33 → 0.3.34 (10 crates)

Source/prose changes needed: none. Everything still matches.

Branch hygiene note: I rebased off fa3f7706 (actual remote main) rather than carrying forward the unpushed local branches from Aug 26 and Aug 29 — those PR content is consolidated into today's single atomic commit so reviewers get a clean diff.

All six active tutorials remain stable in maintenance mode. Pattern continues to hold: incremental-snippet structure universally incompatible with mdbook test, but companion source everywhere compiles warning-free under rustc 1.97.1 + current deps.
